Showreel and Engagement (Developments in what I plan to pursue)

Unfortunately, since my last blog post, the Halle Orchestra Project has fallen through, due to multiple factors that were mainly out of my control. However I will reflect in saying that there was a personal motivation for myself to drop out of the project, along with the reasons I share with the rest of my peers. The main problem for me was how I didn't want to take on a big-responsibility role, due to how busy my schedule is going to be for the rest of this semester. I felt I had unintentionally taken on an art director role, where I really only had time for a smaller, character design role.

Nevertheless I'm quickly learning that sometimes miscommunication can be the greatest enemy to a client-based brief. It was a real shame that was the cause this time, but at least now I can reserve more time towards my other project and actually appreciate how understated it is to actually schedule time off, so that one's well-being is preserved. Even though it might seem a failure before it even began, there are silver linings to be found. There was never any money on the line and no one invested too much time for it to feel too disappointing, so I can at least look at this situation from an objective angle, and quite handily gain an experience to blog about. My plans for the future of this module, will have to slightly change, I really enjoyed the Loopdeloop video I created last year, with Josh Macey and I think that to just work on something purely individual, quick and experimental could be a great replacement for showreel material.

I shall focus more on this aspect of the module, in the coming months of this year and for now I have time to focus more on developing my social media and branding.
