ABOUT ME
"MY NAME IS JAMES ANDREW LAWSON..."
A combined love of music, comedy and art has led me to becoming a 2D animator and character designer.
I graduated university in 2019 amid multiple animation award wins and nominations (Anijam 2018 and RTS NW Student Awards 2019 ).
Shortly after, I started Friend Party Studios with my fellow business partners and mates: Adam Frith and Paul Reynolds taking the role of our studio’s Art Director before being headhunted to work with hip hop
legends Czarface and MF DOOM.
I have since directed the music video for “Flying Bus”, the first ever solo venture from Bez of "Happy Mondays" fame and infamous Ibiza DJ: Doorly.
In addition to that I have been regualrly Asset Designing and Animating for an educational TV show and mobile app: “C21Ed”, that teaches STEM subjects to millions of children in the developing world.
Well versed in design theory, I create characters with a fluidity and purpose that brings them to life.
